Picture This: Angela’s Anxious Life

I love books. I love photography. And I love getting to know new people. That’s why I decided to combine these three things in this little feature called Picture This, where I ask other bloggers to share five pictures with us, bookish and non-bookish. But mostly bookish. This time, we’re admiring snap shots taken by

angie angela’s anxious life

Picture 1: Something I decorated my bookcase with

“This is my crazy bookcases. They are old school.. from like the 90s. They were my mom’s and then she passed them onto me. I have been meaning to get some new ones from Ikea but just haven’t done it yet. I have clearly decorated it with all kinds of goodies!”

Picture 2: Where I read

“This is my famous reading armchair. I read here every night.. with my reading light (and my cat sleeping in the background). It is like my little nest. I sometimes read in bed.. but my husband goes to bed so early that I rarely get to do that.”

Picture 3: What books have inspired me to do

“When I first started reading a lot more… I realized there was no one in my life who read like I did. So I found out through my Oprah magazine back in 2007 about this website called goodreads. Well I had to go and check it out. I had found a great way to interact with people who shared my interests in books. I then started the Young Adult Book Club, and the Stephen King Fan groups. I love them both. I work really hard on them to make them enjoyable for readers. I was really proud when I first started getting authors to do Q&As with the group and now I practically have an author come by every month!!”

Picture 4: My most expensive book

“This is Beetle the Bard by J.K. Rowling special edition. It is an amazing book and case. I love it. I could only put one picture of it on here… so I wanted to post this video from YouTube that shows you everything inside the case!!”

Picture 5: Meeting George RR Martin

“OK…. I mean… how cool is this?? I had to include this picture. I went all by myself to meet him and was able to get another fan in line to snap this picture. We weren’t allowed to stop and pose with him. So it was like a hit and run picture and everyone had to do it like this. There were over 600 people in line!! And it went by actually really fast!!”

I have that same edition of Dracula, and I love it. You can never go wrong with anything Edward Gorey touched.

I love that special edition of Beetle the Bard! I wanted one, but wasn’t able to snag it due to monetary constraints. But it’s so pretty, and I feel like it’s something a Potter fan would be able to really and truly treasure. I LOVE IT.
